Kid Acne’s Smoke & Mirrors

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

Força da Rua participating artist Kid Acne unveiled his wickedly pseudo-pagan solo show Smoke & Mirrors on Thursday 2nd April at east London’s Stella Dore gallery. We caught up with him for the final interview for the A Força da Rua documentary - more of that to come soon, as well as sneak previews of the Kid Acne A Força da Rua Flying V.

Part of Kid Acne’s show includes the Brazilian lambe lambe prints - printed at the same Sao Paulo letterpress Grafica Fidalga that we visited back in February. An awesome place using 100-year-old machinery and hand carved wood letters. Unfortunately the press will be demonlished soon, however Baixo from Choque Cultural gallery has told us he’ll be finding a new home for the letterpresses.

Doc stills, interviews and extra footage will be up on the blog soon!
